Welcome

There may be many reasons why you are considering therapy at this time in your life.

You may feel that there is a specific issue that you are struggling to cope with, or a deeper sense of emptiness and confusion that you are finding difficult to comprehend.  We all need support sometimes. We may feel stuck, and just want to understand what is holding us back. At times life can seem unbearably difficult. We struggle to find ways to navigate its challenges alone and it seems impossible to turn to those closest to us or it feels as though there is no-one in our world that we can turn to.

Using a psychodynamic approach of exploring both past and present experiences I can help you to clarify and understand your difficulties.  Together we would explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and confidential environment. Through the therapeutic relationship, insight into underlying emotional conflicts can be gained, enabling a deeper understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing and the unhelpful patterns of behaviour that you are struggling to change.

What can therapy help with?

  • feelings of anxiety

  • feeling stressed

  • coming to terms with a loss, such as a bereavement, a relationship breakdown, redundancy

  • low self-esteem, feelings of inadequacy and a sense of not ‘fitting-in’

  • feeling depressed, sad, empty, alone, suicidal thoughts

  • work-related problems

  • difficulties concentrating, at work or with your studies

  • repetitive patterns of unsatisfactory or destructive relationships

  • family conflicts

  • identity issues

  • sexuality

  • recurring unresolved issues from the past
